ViVe aims to close the gap on health equity by providing wellness programs to Colorado’s low-income communities that are linguistically and culturally diverse.
For a child to grow up healthy, we need to address health components such as mental health, physical health, nutrition, and social development.
Often, children from low-income communities lack the opportunity to engage in quality programs that address these components.

Our Impact
VIVE provides children and their families opportunities to engage in physical activities, wellness education, sports and Youth Workforce development that would otherwise be inaccessible to them.
FACTS
Over 60% of Latino and African American Children cannot swim
Low income children & Minority children lack the access and opportunity to PLAY & Participate in sports.
Playtime and physical activity are essential to the mental health, cognitive development and the physical, social, and emotional well-being of children and youth.
VIVE’S IMPACT
Over 1000 children and their families learned to swim
Over 300 children enrolled in Play After School programs
The ViVe Youth Workforce development program provided job readiness training and health and wellness employment to former learn-to-swim participants
More than 100 youth participated in ViVe Multi-sport, completing duathlons and triathlons. Together with their families they experienced our parks and our lakes and outdoors adventures that are otherwise unavailable.

years implementing Youth workforce DEVELOPMENT.
ViVe’s Youth workforce development program is the final step in ViVe’s continuum of fitness programming and is for youth age 15 and over who are interested in health and wellness careers. This three-month program provides training in leadership, CPR, first aid, lifeguard certification, water safety instruction and job readiness, with a pipeline to job opportunities with the city of Denver.
